“Annie Siddons was an invaluable part of the creative team for Chat Sh*t, Get Hit. I needed and wanted her genius from start to finish. Her precision, rigour and boundless imagination were instrumental in taking the script from scattered segments to a cohesive, clear and clever story. For me, it is so hard to navigate this as a writer and performer because I am way too close to the work. In equal measure, rarely have I met anyone who holds both the artist and the writing with such care. For me, humour is KEY - Siddons' humour and honesty meant that the rehearsal room was fun - what's the actual fucking point in making art work if you can't enjoy some of the 'making' along the way?”
Chat Sh*t, Get Hit
I’ve been working with sardonic Northern wunderkind, poetic and hilarious performance artist Martha Pailing, on her second solo show - about female rage. She’s just smashed Edinburgh Fringe 2026, scooped some prizes, completed a mini tour and ended up selling out a mini run at Soho Theatre as part of Soho Rising.

‘What if your anger just simmers underneath? If it never quite reaches boiling point,
but it’s present, burning your insides’
Combining spoken word, football chants, live art and theatre, Chat Shit, Get Hit dives into women's anger:
how it fuels, how it festers and how it is swallowed. A funny and uncompromising show about recovery,
solidarity and the suppression of women's rage.
